- Remove the crusts from day-old bread; sliced in half.
- Spread the halves lightly with soft butter.
- On each piece of bread place a slice of sharp
- Cheddar cheese.
- Top the cheese with a very thin slice of a well-ripened tomato.
- Place a piece of bacon over the tomato.
- You may prefer to partially fry the bacon first.
- Bake in a 325° oven until the cheese melts and the bacon is done.
- Serve hot.
